About Melissa Shames

Hi, I’m Melissa! I live, shop, eat, work, and play locally and love to share my knowledge of the area with people I meet. My passion for life and for helping my clients achieve their real estate goals has made me one of the top producing Real Estate agents in the Ithaca Community. I strive to help others navigate the home buying, investing, or selling process by providing the support and resources needed for a smooth transaction. With over 30 years in the community, I bring a wealth of local knowledge and a no-nonsense approach to buying and selling real estate. My background includes 14.5 years in advertising sales with Time Warner Cable, where I supported local businesses in achieving growth through national network advertising. Mytransition to real estate began with property management, and today I excel as both an agent and investor, managing multiple properties and overseeing construction projects with precision. Raised in upstate New York, I have deep roots in Ithaca. I raised my children here and they thrived in local sports and academics. My daughter, Kimberly, excelled in gymnastics, achieving top rankings in New York State, while my son, Charles, pursued a career in baseball before becoming Assistant Manager at Island Health & Fitness. My approach to real estate is characterized by positivity, honesty, and a strong commitment to my clients' best interests. I build lasting relationships and ensure clear communication to guide clients through every aspect of their real estate journey, from single-family homes to investment properties and beyond.
